In the world of litigation, navigating the complexities of subpoenas and protecting sensitive financial information is a formidable challenge. Recently, we had the privilege of defending a client faced with a subpoena duces tecum requesting business bank statements. We quickly contacted the client’s employer, verified that she had no ownership interest in the business, and obtained declarations supporting our position. We then contacted the bank, informed them that we were going to be filing a motion to quash, and that they shouldn’t respond to the subpoena until the court ruled on the issue. Through strategic legal maneuvers and a deep understanding of the law, we achieved a significant victory by successfully quashing the subpoena. This victory not only protected the privacy of our client’s employer but also served as a testament to the importance of a well-thought-out legal strategy and the ability to advocate effectively in the face of challenging legal circumstances.
